NOTHING PERSONAL (EP): summer of 2002?
Label: Mo’Wax?
Tracklisting: Out in a Day, Hopeless, and at least two tracks that ended up being put on With The Tides; there might have been more, but we don’t know because an official track listing was never released
Other information: the EP was scheduled for release in roughly June/July of 2002, possibly later. the EP wasn’t released (some interviews with the band say it had to do with the ‘politics’ at the time). The official south site (old version) had this to say: “As South are now focused on (and very close to) starting the next album for Kinetic/BMG [which would have been With The Tides] we have decided to call off the ‘Nothing Personal’ EP. We are currently meeting with producers then once we have made a decision we’re going to start recording. The chances are that some (if not all) of the tracks will feature on the next album.”
The one available track from the EP, ‘Out In A Day’, is available for download at the Official South Website.

Here On In
appears on: All In For Nothing EP, From Here On In (UK, US, Japan), Constantly Burning
lyrics:
It’s a sold life
Sun rise on the back of an old life
Borrowed the style if the time’s right
Cut all the ties in your foresight
You’re only slaving in your own mind

But still life makes your heart

It’s a cold life
Died in the back of a landslide
Caught in the web swallowed your pride
If your not certain then don’t dive
The corner your eyes the sunrise

I’ve lost more inside than the spirit that’s died
In my state of mind what I’ve got to decide (rely on)
Here on in

Controlled types
Types that lay back and pay no mind
Constantly burning their own kind
It means more to me than to stay and fight
I’ve lost more like that than I care to right

I’ve lost more inside than the spirit that’s died
In my state of mind what I’ve got to decide (rely on)
Here on in
lead vocals: Joel Cadbury
backing vocals: Lily Mahler

Live Between the Lines (Back Again)
appears on: From Here On In (UK, US, Japan), All In For Nothing EP, From Here On In (sampler: UK)
lyrics:
Just rely feels like saving time
In your eyes we slowly fall behind

Does anybody rule your life

Back again but not worth trading
Reached a point it’s overtaken
Back again but not worth trading
Reached a point where no ones blaming you

Does anybody rule your life
A right to live between the lines

So decide leave an open mind
Slowly bide over the changing tides

Does anybody rule your life
lead vocals: Jamie McDonald
backing vocals: Joel Cadbury

Save Your Sorrow
appears on: From Here On In (US only), All In for Nothing EP, Overused, Interim EP
lyrics: It’s colder than the last wind
My heart’s the size of oak
No state to recognise here
We’re stronger than we’re told

Save your sorrow
Don’t forget that you’ve paid
I hate to leave it in the way
And I doubt of what you got now
The weight of the load
The chances you finally hold

Still colder than the last wind
The last wind stroked my soul
No state to recognise here
Still thawing from this cold
lead vocals: Joel Cadbury

Paint the Silence [UNKLE variation]
appears on: All In For Nothing EP, Constantly Burning, Paint the Silence CD1, 12″ and promo (single)
lyrics:
How can you say your life is empty
So late in the day
Why would you stay another second
Now your sights got in the way
A combination of love and aggression
Another second lived

Don’t paint the silence black now save me
Don’t leave it a day
You got a right to stand or die so maybe
You take chances all the same
Pain comes in stages if we don’t make it
Nothing changes

Now the violence sleeps inside
Abandoned feeling for just a piece of mind
It’s the reason why your teething side frustrates me (irates me)

Don’t leave me to pick up on your questions
Not even a day
It’s alright to finish up your sentence
You talk all the same
Pain comes in stages if we don’t make it
Nothing changes
